TCU women’s tennis knocked off Baylor 4-1 in the Big 12 Tournament, earning its first semifinal trip since 2016 behind strong doubles and clutch singles.

FORT WORTH - TCU women’s tennis is heading back to the Big 12 Tournament semifinals for the first time in nearly a decade after a convincing 4-1 win over Baylor on Thursday at the USTA National Campus.

The No. 23 Horned Frogs, seeded third in the bracket, improved to 18-4 overall and continued one of the program’s best seasons in years.

The win didn’t come by accident. TCU women’s tennis, Baylor, Big 12 Tournament, and USTA National Campus were all part of a matchup that swung early toward the Frogs thanks to a strong showing in doubles.

Once TCU grabbed the opening point, its depth in singles made the difference again.

The Frogs wasted little time setting the tone. Tomi Main and Cayetana Gay rolled to a 6-2 doubles win, and Raquel Caballero Chica and Jennifer Jackson followed with a 6-4 victory to lock up the first point of the afternoon.

That fast start gave TCU control, and Baylor never fully recovered.

In singles, freshman Jennifer Jackson delivered one of the day’s most dominant performances.

She overwhelmed Luna Ivkovic 6-1, 6-0 to give the Frogs a 2-0 edge and move to 10-2 in dual-match singles this season. Baylor answered with a straight-set win on court two, but TCU stayed composed.

Cristina Ramos Sierra pushed the lead to 3-1 by beating Mu-Jie Tzeng 6-4, 7-5 in a tightly contested match that turned out to be crucial.

From there, the clincher came from Victoria Gomez O’Hayon, who bounced back after dropping the first set to defeat Alian Zack 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.

It was her second straight win at the No. 4 singles spot and another sign that TCU is peaking at the right time.

The victory also marks the program’s highest win total since 2015, when TCU finished 19-9.

Now the Horned Frogs move on to face Texas Tech in Friday’s semifinal with a shot to keep this breakthrough season going.
