TCU women’s tennis swept Texas Tech 4-0 in Orlando to reach the Big 12 Tournament championship match for the first time in program history.

TCU women’s tennis made history Friday night, and it did it in emphatic fashion.

The No. 23 Horned Frogs blanked Texas Tech 4-0 at the Big 12 Women’s Tennis Championship in Orlando, punching their ticket to the title match for the first time in program history.

The Horned Frogs entered the semifinal with extra motivation after falling 4-3 to Texas Tech in Lubbock less than two weeks earlier.

This time, though, TCU flipped the script completely. The Frogs grabbed the doubles point, carried that momentum into singles, and never let the Red Raiders get on the board.

That fast start mattered. TCU’s doubles teams on courts two and three delivered the early edge, with Raquel Caballero Chica and Jennifer Jackson earning a 6-3 win, followed by Cayetana Gay and Tomi Main closing out a 6-4 victory to secure the point. From there, the Frogs took control.

In singles, TCU got exactly what it needed from the middle of the lineup. Cristina Ramos Sierra opened the scoring with a straight-set 6-2, 6-4 win, and Victoria Gomez O’Hayon followed with a 6-4, 7-5 victory that pushed the Frogs to the brink.

The clincher came from freshman Jennifer Jackson, who battled through a momentum swing and finished off Havana Kadi in three sets, 6-3, 0-6, 6-2.

That combination of poise and depth has been a major reason TCU has climbed to 19-4 overall and 10-3 in Big 12 play this season. It also sets up the biggest match yet.

Now the Frogs turn their attention to No. 20 UCF, the tournament’s top seed, in Saturday’s championship match. TCU has already made school history. The next step is seeing whether this breakthrough run can end with a conference title.
