TCU women’s tennis rolled past Colorado 4-0 to close the regular season, finishing with a program-best 10 Big 12 wins and strong tournament momentum.

FORT WORTH - TCU women’s tennis closed the regular season with authority Saturday, blanking Colorado 4-0 in Boulder and carrying major momentum into the Big 12 Tournament.

After a tough loss earlier in the week, the No. 20 Horned Frogs responded exactly how contenders do, taking control in doubles and then overwhelming the Buffaloes in singles.

The win pushed TCU to 17-3 overall and 10-3 in Big 12 play, the program’s best conference win total since joining the league. That alone is a big statement.

So is the way the Frogs got there. This team finished the regular season looking deep, composed and dangerous from top to bottom.

Doubles didn’t start perfectly, but TCU recovered fast. After Colorado grabbed the first court, Raquel Caballero Chica and Jennifer Jackson answered with a 6-3 win to even things up.

From there, Cayetana Gay and Tomi Main delivered the clincher, grinding out a 7-5 victory to secure the opening point and flip the momentum.

Once singles started, the match tilted hard in TCU’s direction.

No. 83 Caballero Chica set the tone on court one, pulling away for a 6-4, 6-0 win over Aya El Sayed. Gay followed with another dominant result, rolling to a 6-2, 6-1 decision on court six.

That victory capped a flawless regular season in dual singles for Gay, who finished 13-0 and went 11-0 in Big 12 matches.

Victoria Gomez O’Hayon then slammed the door, beating Lani Brotman 6-3, 7-5 to clinch the sweep.

The numbers say plenty about where TCU stands heading into postseason play. Ten conference wins mark a new program high in the Big 12, and the Frogs are set to finish among the league’s top three after ending last season in eighth.

That kind of jump doesn’t happen by accident.

Now, TCU turns its attention to Orlando and the Big 12 Tournament.

If the Frogs bring this level with them, they won’t just be showing up. They’ll be a real threat to make noise.
