Clara Bielefeld and Clara Silva carry Horned Frog momentum into the FIBA U20 EuroBasket, testing their skills against Europe’s elite prospects before returning for another championship charge.
TCU women’s basketball will once again have a strong presence on the international stage this summer as two returning Horned Frogs prepare to represent their home countries at the 2026 FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket.
Guard Clara Bielefeld and center Clara Silva have both earned spots with their respective national teams for the prestigious tournament. Bielefeld will play for Germany in Lithuania, while Silva will suit up for Portugal in Bulgaria.
The opportunity comes after both players helped the Horned Frogs reach the Elite Eight for the second straight season in 2025-26. With another deep NCAA Tournament run behind them, Bielefeld and Silva now have the chance to build on that momentum before returning to Fort Worth for the upcoming campaign.
Bielefeld did not start at all in her freshman season at TCU, but this event could give her some experience to use in the upcoming season. Competing against many of Europe's top young guards should only accelerate her development heading into another collegiate season.

Silva will once again represent Portugal, continuing what has become an impressive international résumé despite her young age. The 6-7 post has already established herself as one of Portugal's brightest basketball prospects, previously starring at the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup before earning another national team call-up this summer.
Events like the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket have long served as launching pads for future professional and senior national team players, making the experience invaluable for both athletes.
Silva averaged nine points and seven rebounds per game this past season, while Bielefeld has still yet to come into her own at TCU, averaging just two points in her freshman season. But competing against international competition could help them both improve ahead of the 2026-27 season.
When Bielefeld and Silva return to campus later this summer, they'll bring back even more experience and confidence to a TCU team that once again expects to compete among the nation's best. Their summer assignments are not only a personal honor, but another reflection of the growing national and international reputation of Horned Frog women's basketball.
