No. 14 TCU Women Extend Home Dominance with 90-45 Rout of Houston cover image

The TCU Horned Frogs ignite offense, extending their home streak to 39 with a dominant 90-45 victory, showcasing explosive talent and national championship aspirations.

The home floor at Fort Worth continues to be a nightmare for visiting teams.

On Wednesday night, the TCU Horned Frogs delivered another emphatic reminder, rolling past the Houston Cougars 90-45 to claim their 39th consecutive home victory.

Behind a balanced and explosive offensive effort, TCU improved to 21-3 overall and 9-2 in Big 12 play, strengthening its case as one of the nation’s most dangerous teams entering the final stretch of the regular season.

The Horned Frogs entered the night tied with Texas for the longest active home winning streak in the country, and they wasted no time separating themselves from Houston.

Olivia Miles led the way with a game-high 25 points, showcasing her ability to control the tempo while scoring at all three levels. She also dished out six assists, anchoring an offense that finished with 19 assists on 34 made field goals.

Miles’ command of the game was evident from the opening quarter, as TCU steadily built momentum and never looked back.

Inside, Marta Suarez delivered a dominant double-double, finishing with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Suarez was a problem on the glass and on the perimeter, knocking down three 3-pointers and helping TCU control the paint.

Her early bucket midway through the second quarter pushed the Horned Frogs into double figures, setting the tone for the rest of the night.

TCU took a 44-25 advantage into halftime and came out even sharper after the break. The Horned Frogs stretched the lead to 30 late in the third quarter before slamming the door in the fourth, outscoring Houston 24-7 in the final period.

Donovyn Hunter added 15 points, while TCU shot an impressive 58 percent from the field.

Houston, now 7-15 overall and 1-10 in conference play, struggled to keep pace. Kierra Merchant led the Cougars with 12 points, but Houston was limited to just two made 3-pointers and was outrebounded 46-22, a gap that proved impossible to overcome.

TCU’s home winning streak dates back to Feb. 24, 2024, and includes 32 straight double-digit victories in Fort Worth.

The Horned Frogs will look to carry that momentum on the road Sunday when they travel to Colorado, aiming to pair their home dominance with postseason positioning in a loaded Big 12 race.
