Edmonds' career-night heroics, including a late scoring surge and game-winning free throws, powered TCU to a thrilling comeback victory.

TCU junior Xavier Edmonds turned Saturday afternoon into his personal showcase, delivering a career-best performance and sealing an 84-82 win over the Kansas State Wildcats with ice-cold execution in the final seconds.

Edmonds finished with a career-high 26 points on an ultra-efficient 9-of-10 shooting night, adding 10 rebounds for his fifth straight double-double. When the game tightened in the late stages, he took complete control.

Edmonds scored six unanswered points in the final 1:10, including a powerful dunk that cut the deficit to one and the decisive free throws with six seconds remaining that gave TCU the lead for good.

After Kansas State surged ahead 82-77 with 1:30 left, Edmonds never rushed a possession. He calmly converted at the line, attacked the rim when the opportunity was there, and made the Wildcats pay for late turnovers. His ability to close underscored just how much his role has grown for the Horned Frogs.

While Edmonds grabbed the spotlight, he wasn’t alone.

Micah Robinson provided steady scoring support with 16 points and came up clutch at the stripe late. David Punch added 14 points and battled inside, while Jayden Pierre chipped in 10, giving TCU four players in double figures.

Kansas State leaned heavily on PJ Haggerty, who poured in 30 points and kept the Wildcats in control for much of the night. Marcus Johnson added 15 points, while Nate Johnson recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Still, late miscues proved costly, as Kansas State failed to score on its final three possessions.

Edmonds’ efficiency and late-game command made the difference, turning what looked like another tough loss into a defining win. With performances like this becoming more frequent, TCU Horned Frogs are seeing their junior forward emerge as a go-to closer.

TCU now turns its attention to a major challenge Tuesday, hosting No. 7 Iowa State with momentum - and confidence - building around Edmonds’ breakout stretch.
