As Texas A&M prepares for its historic College Football Playoff showdown against No. 10 Miami, the status of senior running back Le'Veon Moss remains a major question mark.
Head coach Mike Elko, known for his openness on many topics, remained intentionally vague when asked Monday whether Moss would suit up for Saturday's game at Kyle Field.
"We're kind of in wait-and-see mode on that one," Elko said. "So, we'll see where that one goes."
Moss has not played since October 11 after suffering a torn ACL and MCL during a dominant 34-17 win over Florida.
Despite early optimism from Elko that Moss could return before the end of the regular season, the veteran back missed the remainder of the campaign, including the rivalry showdown against Texas.
Elko's noncommittal answers have been a trend throughout the season when it comes to injury news.
Leading up to the regular-season finale against the Longhorns, he offered a similarly elusive response: "We'll see. Probably not, but we'll see."
Interestingly, it was Moss himself who first revealed the severity of his injury—something Elko had never detailed. In his preseason media availability, Moss confirmed he had torn both his ACL and MCL during the previous season's matchup against South Carolina.
In Moss's absence, sophomore Rueben Owens and dual-threat quarterback Marcel Reed have powered the Aggies' ground game.
Combined, the two racked up 1,084 rushing yards during the 2025 regular season. Moss, in limited action, posted 389 yards and six touchdowns on 70 carries.
Kickoff for Saturday's high-stakes playoff clash against the Hurricanes is set for 11 a.m. CT at Kyle Field, and whether Moss takes the field remains a mystery.
One thing is certain ... if he does return, it could provide a major boost to A&M's offense. If not, the Aggies will continue to rely on their rising stars to carry the load in pursuit of a semifinal berth.
