No. 15 Texas A&M softball turned Davis Diamond into a launchpad Saturday night. The Aggies rolled to back-to-back run-rule wins, dismantling Kennesaw State 11-2 and Saint Mary’s 12-1 to improve to 14-7 on the season.
Texas A&M combined for 23 runs on 22 hits, blasting four home runs and stacking five doubles in a dominant display of power and precision.
If you’re tracking hot offenses in college softball, Texas A&M belongs in that conversation.
Mya Perez was unstoppable. The slugger went 4-for-4 across the twin bill, launching two home runs and piling up 11 total bases. She drove in five runs, scored four times and extended her on-base streak to 24 consecutive games.
Perez now has eight home runs this season and 25 in her career, homering in four of her last five contests.
KK Dement matched the fireworks. Dement finished 4-for-7 with two long balls and six RBI, including a game-ending blast against Kennesaw State.
It marked the second multi-homer game of her career and pushed her career total to 20.
Speed was part of the show, too. Kennedy Powell stole three bases on the night, extending her NCAA-leading stolen base streak to 35 straight.
Powell has now swiped multiple bags in a game for the first time this season and has helped fuel an Aggie lineup that has recorded at least two steals in nine games.
Inside the circle, Sidne Peters delivered calm dominance. She earned wins in both matchups to improve to 6-2, tossing 7.2 combined innings while allowing just one run on one hit.
In the nightcap, Peters threw a one-hit complete game, surrendering a single walk while striking out three.
Texas A&M hit .448 with runners on base and limited opponents to a .135 batting average. The Aggies have now homered in six straight games and secured their seventh run-rule victory of the year.
Up next, Texas A&M softball closes out the Texas A&M Invitational against Louisiana on Sunday afternoon, riding a wave of momentum and confidence that’s building quickly in College Station.
