Texas A&M vs. Tennessee Tech First Pitch Moved Up as SEC TV Spotlight Grows cover image

The Aggies' Opening Weekend kicks off early due to the weather, as the SEC's growing spotlight amplifies anticipation for a loaded Texas A&M squad aiming for Omaha.

Opening Weekend in College Station just got an early wake-up call.

Because of expected bad weather, Saturday’s Texas A&M baseball game against Tennessee Tech has officially been moved to an 11 a.m. first pitch. For Aggies fans planning their Saturday around Olsen Field, that means coffee instead of a late lunch - but the mission remains the same.

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the earlier start time, and the game will appear on SEC Network.

The timing tweak doesn’t change the bigger picture: the 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the most nationally visible campaigns in recent memory for the Texas A&M Aggies.

The SEC has rolled out a robust television slate, placing Texas A&M on ESPN, ESPN2, and the SEC Network nine times this spring. That includes the April 10-11 showdown with the rival Texas Longhorns at Olsen Field - a series that could shape the early SEC standings.

Stars like Gavin Grahovac and Jace LaViolette headline an Aggie lineup expected to generate serious MLB Draft buzz. Add in a pitching staff that made major strides last season, and this roster enters 2026 with Omaha-level expectations.

The road gauntlet won’t be easy. A nationally televised three-game set at the LSU Tigers (April 17-19) will put the Aggies under prime-time scrutiny, followed by trips to the Florida Gators and Ole Miss Rebels.

But first things first - bundle up, get there early and be loud. The road to Omaha now starts at 11 a.m.
