Texas A&M women’s golf continues to surge up the national rankings, and sophomore standout Vanessa Borovilos is a major reason why.
Borovilos captured medalist honors at the Moon Golf Invitational, firing a 7-under 209 over three rounds at Suntree Country Club to secure a four-shot victory.
The win marked her first of the spring season and the second of her collegiate career, further cementing her status as one of the top players in college golf.
The Canadian was remarkably consistent, finishing under par in all three rounds (70-68-71). Her steady 1-under 71 in the final round sealed the individual championship and showcased the poise that has defined her sophomore campaign.
Behind Borovilos’ performance, No. 6 Texas A&M finished runner-up in a loaded field, posting a 4-under 860 team score.
The Aggies trailed only No. 8 Auburn (-7) and outpaced three top-10 programs and 10 top-25 teams in the tournament. The strong showing pushed Texas A&M up to No. 4 in the latest Scoreboard Team Rankings.
Natalie Yen added a top-10 finish for the Aggies, closing at 1-over 217 after shooting even par in the final round. Sky Sudberry tied for 20th at 3-over 219, while Luise Reau (222) and Brynn Kort (223) rounded out the lineup.
Borovilos’ dominance didn’t go unnoticed. She was named SEC Golfer of the Week following her victory ... the second time in her career she has earned the conference honor.
Currently ranked No. 10 individually in the Scoreboard rankings, she also earned preseason recognition on the ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List.
Texas A&M now turns its focus to the GameAbove Invitational in California on March 9-10. If Borovilos continues her red-hot form, the Aggies appear poised to contend for even bigger championships as the spring season heats up.
