Texas A&M is pushing hard for rising 2027 defensive lineman Segun Alexander as Mike Elko’s loaded class keeps gaining steam.
Texas A&M football is already swinging like a heavyweight in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
Mike Elko and his staff are set for a major official visit weekend, and rising defensive lineman Segun Alexander is one of the names Aggies fans need to know.

The Georgia standout is scheduled to visit College Station on June 5, and Texas A&M appears to be firmly in the mix as his recruitment heats up.
Alexander may still carry a three-star label in some places, but that probably won’t last long if his production keeps matching the tape. At 6-2 and nearly 280 pounds, he brings the kind of power, versatility and backfield violence SEC coaches chase every cycle.
His junior numbers were loud: 36 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and a forced fumble.
That’s not a developmental flier. That’s disruption.
Texas A&M already has serious momentum up front. Defensive line coach Elijah Robinson has made an immediate impact since returning to Aggieland, helping land five-star edge Zyron Forstall, the top-rated player in Texas A&M’s 2027 class.
The Aggies also hold commitments from four-star defensive linemen Myels Smith, Elijah Patmon and fast-rising edge Kaden McCarty.
Adding Alexander would give the class even more bite.
Of course, this won’t be a free run. Cal, Clemson, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame are also on Alexander’s official visit schedule, meaning Elko’s staff has to close against real competition.
But Texas A&M has the pitch right now: SEC football, a loaded defensive front, Robinson’s recruiting pull and a 2027 class that already looks national.

Four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen is also reportedly part of the weekend visit picture, adding even more juice to what could be a tone-setting stretch for the Aggies.
Texas A&M isn’t nibbling around the edges in 2027.
The Aggies are trying to build a defensive class that can wreck Saturdays.
