Bucky McMillan is trying to reshape Texas A&M basketball recruiting, and five-star guard Jordan Page could be his boldest swing yet.

Texas A&M basketball isn’t acting like a program content with simply making the NCAA Tournament anymore.

Under Bucky McMillan, the Aggies are swinging bigger, moving faster and trying to crash recruiting rooms they haven’t always owned. The latest proof is Texas A&M’s offer to 2027 five-star shooting guard Jordan Page, one of the most explosive names in the class.

Page, ranked No. 10 nationally by 247Sports, is exactly the type of player who would signal a different era in College Station.

During his 2025 junior season, he averaged 19.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, showing the kind of scoring punch and physical edge that fits McMillan’s up-tempo style.

Of course, landing him won’t be easy.

North Carolina is heavily involved, and the Tar Heels’ blue-blood pull - plus their proximity to Page’s Raleigh home - makes them a serious obstacle. But McMillan doesn’t seem interested in playing small ball on the recruiting trail.

That’s the point.

After guiding Texas A&M to the NCAA Tournament in his first season, McMillan has already started reshaping the roster again.

The Aggies added six transfer portal pieces, headlined by star shooting guard PJ Haggerty, after last year’s transfer-heavy group rode Rashaun Agee’s scoring and rebounding to March.

The Aggies beat St. Mary’s in the first round before running into Houston in the Round of 32, a result that exposed the gap between being a tournament team and being a real national threat.

McMillan appears determined to close it.

Texas A&M already has a 2027 commitment from four-star guard Chase Richardson, a player viewed as a natural fit in McMillan’s system. Pairing Richardson with Page would instantly give the Aggies one of the most intriguing young backcourts in the country.

For years, five-star basketball recruiting hasn’t been Texas A&M’s normal lane.

McMillan looks ready to wreck normal.
