Former Texas A&M star Jace LaViolette is heating up fast in the minors, using a six-game hitting streak to revive his promotion buzz.

Jace LaViolette is starting to look like Jace LaViolette again, and that should get everyone’s attention.

The former Texas A&M slugger has flipped his first full pro season with the Lake County Captains of the Midwest League (Cleveland Guardians) from sluggish to scary, riding a six-game hitting streak that suddenly has his numbers moving in the right direction.

After opening with real swing-and-miss issues and a .193/.311/.720 slash line, LaViolette has climbed to .277/.325/.787.

That’s not a small adjustment. That’s a power bat waking up.

Over his last six games, LaViolette is hitting .400 with 10 hits, two home runs, two doubles, one triple, nine RBI and a 1.284 OPS.

He’s also stacked three multi-hit games during that stretch, which matters because the question has never been whether the power is real. It’s whether he can make enough contact to let it play every night.

Right now, the answer is getting louder.

Saturday brought the biggest reminder yet. LaViolette launched his seventh home run of the season, a 108 mph, 380-foot two-run shot that left no doubt and gave his team breathing room.

It was the kind of violent swing that made him a legend in Aggieland and a first-round pick.

The strikeouts still need work. That part hasn’t disappeared. But in player development, progress rarely arrives perfectly packaged. LaViolette is doing damage, adjusting, and forcing pitchers to pay when they miss.

That’s exactly what Texas A&M fans remember.

He left College Station as the Aggies’ career home run king, and now he’s beginning to show why that power can translate at the next level.

If this stretch keeps rolling, a Double-A promotion conversation won’t feel premature much longer.

LaViolette doesn’t need to be finished yet. He just needs to keep proving the bat is too loud to ignore.
