Former Texas A&M RB Le'Veon Moss met with one NFL team that could be primed to steal him off the board in later rounds.
There has plenty of attention on former Aggies heading into the NFL Draft, but one potential draftee has flown under the radar in College Station.
Le'Veon Moss starred for Texas A&M for three seasons in the backfield. However, injury issues plagued his time in the Maroon and White and have raised concerns from potential professional suitors.
While Moss hasn't been making lots of noise in the draft speculation, one team has taken a notable interest in him. That team is none other than the Dallas Cowboys, who reportedly had dinner with Moss during their visit to College Station for Texas A&M's Pro Day.
Moss showcased his talents by running a 4.5 40-yard dash while still rehabbing his latest injury, which affected his ankle last season.
Dallas seemed to like what it saw out of Moss during this showcase, with the team taking time out to visit with him outside of the Texas A&M facility.
The Cowboys got a steal last year with current running back Javonte Williams, who dazzled in his Dallas debut. This breakout season secured him an extension and assuredly locked down his primary rusher status.
Despite striking gold on Williams, Dallas lacks proven depth at the position. The next men up for the Cowboys are Malik Davis and Jaydon Blue.
Davis has been in the league longer than Blue, who is entering his sophomore season after being a middle-round pickup for Dallas last year. Still, neither has shown to be a certainty to complement Williams.
Interestingly, the saga with Moss mirrors that of Blue, with Dallas entering last season's draft with questions at running back and choosing to pick up Blue later in the order.
While they attended bitterly opposed schools during college - Blue is a Longhorns alum - the young pair could team up and learn behind Williams in preparation for becoming an in-state answer for Dallas.
The injury concerns continue to cloud the judgment of Moss, with a major ACL and MCL incident causing the biggest hang-ups. While others seem to be focused on those, Dallas appears to be looking at the talents displayed at Pro Day and during his tenure with the Aggies when healthy.
It's a gamble for Dallas to pick up Moss next month in Pittsburgh, but the potential payoff if he can maintain his health could mutually benefit the Cowboys and Moss for years to come.
While other Aggies are taking the spotlight at the draft, keep an eye on Moss to represent Texas A&M as one of this year's biggest dark-horse selections.
