Texas A&M football may still be sorting through questions at offensive line, receiver depth and overall play-calling identity, but one 2026 storyline already feels easy to spot.
Mario Craver is positioned to become the centerpiece of the Aggies’ passing attack, and if the offense opens up the way many expect, he could climb into the SEC receiving-title conversation.
That’s a big statement, but Craver has already shown why it’s realistic.
After transferring in, the explosive wideout wasted little time proving he could be a difference-maker in College Station.
He opened last season with two straight 100-yard games, then delivered one of his biggest performances of the year against Notre Dame, catching seven passes for 207 yards and a touchdown.
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed should only help Craver’s chances. The Aggies return stability under center, and that matters in a league where receiver numbers often depend as much on quarterback comfort as individual talent.
With KC Concepcion now gone, Craver steps into the role of the most proven receiver on the roster and the one opposing defenses will have to account for first.
His 2025 season wasn’t flawless.
Injuries clearly limited him for stretches, and there were times he didn’t look fully like himself. Even so, he kept fighting through the schedule and finished stronger than he started.
By the time Texas A&M reached the College Football Playoff, Craver was again making plays downfield and ended that game with seven catches for 92 yards.
Now comes the intriguing part. If Mike Elko’s offense becomes more aggressive through the air in 2026, Craver’s target share could spike.
He finished last year with 917 receiving yards, so topping 1,000 feels well within reach. If the Aggies find consistency around him, he may do far more than that.
In a conference packed with elite skill talent, Craver has already shown he belongs in that tier. This season may be when the rest of the SEC fully finds out.
