Former Texas A&M lineman Chase Bisontis brings plug-and-play versatility to Arizona after going No. 34 overall in the NFL Draft.
Former Texas A&M offensive lineman Chase Bisontis didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called, and now the Arizona Cardinals have an intriguing rookie puzzle to solve.
Arizona selected Bisontis with the No. 34 overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft, adding one of the most versatile blockers in the class.
For Aggies fans, it’s another reminder of the kind of toughness Texas A&M has been producing up front.
The biggest question isn’t whether Bisontis can play early. It’s where he’ll line up.
Bisontis started at left guard during his final two seasons at Texas A&M after playing right tackle as a freshman. That background matters because the Cardinals already added veteran Isaac Seumalo, a Pro Bowl-caliber guard who has spent most of his NFL career on the left side.
That likely means someone has to move to right guard.
Bisontis doesn’t sound bothered by the possibility. His experience on both sides of the offensive line gives Arizona flexibility, and his freshman season at right tackle should help him adjust if the Cardinals ask him to slide over.
For a rookie, that’s a valuable trait. Offensive line transitions aren’t always simple, especially when footwork, hand placement and timing change from one side to the other.
But Bisontis has already shown he can handle multiple roles against high-level SEC competition.
Arizona has used a similar approach before. Paris Johnson Jr. moved into a new tackle role early in his Cardinals career after playing multiple spots at Ohio State, and the organization clearly values linemen who aren’t locked into one position.
For Texas A&M, Bisontis becoming an immediate NFL starter would be a major development story. For Arizona, he could be a long-term building block.
Training camp will decide the exact spot, but one thing feels clear: Bisontis’ versatility gives him a real chance to get on the field fast.
