Former Texas A&M star De’Von Achane suffered a knee injury Sunday and was ruled out of Miami’s loss to Kansas City after only three carries.
Former Texas A&M star De’Von Achane gave Aggies fans a reason for concern Sunday when the Miami Dolphins running back left the game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a knee injury.
Achane was injured during the first quarter of Miami’s 24-10 loss and was initially listed as questionable to return before the Dolphins ruled him out for the remainder of the afternoon.
After the game, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley didn't sound hopeful.
“To be honest with you, it does not sound optimistic,” Hafley said while addressing the media in his post-game presser.
Achane finished with 17 rushing yards on three carries before leaving, cutting short what was expected to be another significant workload for one of Miami’s most important offensive players.
For Texas A&M fans, Achane’s development into an NFL star has been one of the program’s better success stories in recent years.
The Missouri City, Texas, native played for the Aggies from 2020 through 2022 and finished his college career with 2,376 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns.
His final season in College Station was his best.
Achane rushed for 1,102 yards in only 10 games in 2022, averaging 110.2 rushing yards per game while earning first-team All-SEC honors.
His signature performance came against No. 5 LSU, when he carried the ball 38 times for a career-high 215 yards and two touchdowns in Texas A&M’s upset victory.
That speed and explosiveness followed him directly to the NFL.
Achane was coming off a huge 2025 season in Miami in which he rushed for 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns, averaged an NFL-best 5.7 yards per carry and caught 67 passes for 488 yards and four additional scores.
He earned a Pro Bowl selection and entered 2026 ranked No. 26 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players list.
That makes Sunday’s injury particularly important for Miami ... and worth watching closely in College Station.
For now, there’s no confirmed diagnosis beyond the knee injury that forced Achane from the game.
Until Miami provides additional testing results or an official update, the severity and potential recovery timeline remain unknown.
For Aggies fans, the hope is straightforward: that one of Texas A&M’s fastest and most productive former stars avoided anything serious.
