10-seed Texas A&M proved they belonged in the NCAA Tournament with a offensive and defensive masterclass against 7-seed Saint Mary's.

Don't call it an upset for the men from College Station. Despite drawing the lower seed in Thursday's South Region opener, Texas A&M downed Saint Mary's 63-50 to advance to the Round of 32.

The Aggies were led by senior forward Rashaun Agee, who went off to the tune of 22 points and nine rebounds. His stellar night included 7-of-11 shooting with 3 makes from beyond the 3-point arc.

Ruben Dominguez contributed another 11 points for A&M in 25 minutes on the floor. While no other Aggie posted eye-popping numbers, the team was unselfish with all but one Aggie recording a point in the affair.

Joshua Dent mustered a mighty effort for his Gaels, as he tallied 18 points, four rebounds and four assists. He would be almost the only positive for Saint Mary's though.

Texas A&M swarmed on defense and limited all other starters to eight points or less, with bench player Liam Campbell the lone other double-digit scorer for the Gaels.

Despite drawing its highest seed in the Big Dance since 2006, Texas A&M won its opening round game for the third consecutive season.

First year head coach Bucky McMillan now has the chance to do what hasn't been done in eight years -- take the Aggies to the Sweet 16.

The path gets harder for Texas A&M, however, with 2-seed Houston most-likely serving as its next opponent.

The Cougars and Aggies met in March Madness two seasons ago, when 9-seed A&M took top-seeded Houston into overtime before falling 100-95.

They'll need that same magic and then some in order to keep its latest tournament run alive.

Regardless of opponent, Texas A&M has secured its spot in the next round, which will tip off again from Paycom Arena in Oklahoma City sometime on Saturday.
