Fresh off a record-breaking 23-sack season, the veteran pass rusher ignites Los Angeles’ championship hopes as teammates marvel at the physical dominance he brings to the Rams' front.
Myles Garrett has only recently begun his first offseason with the Los Angeles Rams, but the former Texas A&M superstar is already receiving plenty of praise from his new teammates.
Defensive lineman Braden Fiske recently offered a strong assessment of Garrett, making it clear that the veteran pass rusher has quickly shown why the Rams were willing to make a blockbuster deal to acquire him.
"Not all men are created equal," Fiske said plainly.
That sentiment speaks to the expectations surrounding Garrett entering his first season in Los Angeles. The Rams surrendered edge rusher Jared Verse along with multiple future draft picks to acquire the former Cleveland Browns star, making it one of the biggest moves of the NFL offseason.
Garrett enters the season following one of the most dominant campaigns ever by a defensive player. In 2025, he recorded 23 sacks, setting a new single-season record by breaking Michael Strahan's previous record of 22.5. He also won his second Defensive Player of the Year award, both of which have come in the last three years.
Now, the Rams are hoping his presence can help push them over the top after they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seahawks in the playoffs.
For Garrett, the move represents an opportunity to play for a team with legitimate championship aspirations. He has accomplished nearly everything individually during his NFL career, but a Super Bowl title remains missing from his résumé. He has made it clear that winning is his primary motivation as he begins this new chapter in Los Angeles.
His arrival has also created plenty of excitement around the Rams' defensive front. Garrett already has talented players around him, and the possibility of former Rams superstar Aaron Donald returning to the NFL has only added to the intrigue surrounding the unit. Donald has acknowledged that Garrett's arrival has made him consider a comeback.
For Texas A&M fans, Garrett's continued dominance at the NFL level is another reminder of the type of talent he displayed in College Station. He developed into one of the most feared defensive players in college football before becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He also remains the only first overall pick in school history.
If his new teammates' early reactions are any indication, Los Angeles is getting exactly the kind of difference-maker it expected when it made the blockbuster move for the Aggies legend.
