Texas A&M added Australian punter Jamie Sidebottom to its loaded 2027 recruiting class, giving Mike Elko another specialist in a monster Aggies haul.
Texas A&M recruiting just added another international twist to the nation’s No. 1 class.
The Aggies landed a commitment from Australian punter Jamie Sidebottom, giving Mike Elko’s 2027 group another specialist and one more reason this class keeps looking bigger, deeper and more complete by the week.

Sidebottom visited College Station over the weekend and didn’t waste much time making his call, joining an Aggies class that already looks like one of the most aggressive builds in college football.
This isn’t just a throwaway specialist pickup, either. In modern SEC football, hidden yardage matters. Field position wins ugly games.
A punter who can flip the field can be just as valuable on a brutal Saturday night as another depth piece on offense or defense.
Texas A&M clearly knows that, and Sidebottom gives the Aggies a developmental weapon with a different background and a big-leg profile.
He’s also the second specialist to join the class this month. Three-star kicker Andres von der Meden committed on June 8, giving Texas A&M a future kicking-game foundation before the summer recruiting stretch even heats up.
Texas A&M now has 22 commitments in the 2027 cycle, pairing elite volume with impressive quality.
The Aggies’ average player rating sits at 90.97, which is one of the strongest marks in the country and especially notable for a class already carrying 20-plus pledges.
That’s the part that should scare the rest of the SEC. This isn’t just a class built on numbers. Texas A&M is landing high-end players across the board.
Ten Aggies commits rank among the top 10 nationally at their positions, and the headliners are massive: five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews, five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey, five-star edge Zyron Forstall and five-star interior offensive lineman Kennedy Brown.
Sidebottom may not be the flashiest name in the class, but his commitment fits the theme.
Texas A&M isn’t just collecting stars. The Aggies are building a roster with answers everywhere.
