Texas A&M Baseball Eyes Top NCAA Seed cover image

Texas A&M baseball is surging in the SEC race after another road series win, with Auburn next and a Top 5 NCAA seed still in reach.

Texas A&M baseball keeps forcing its way deeper into the national seed conversation.

The No. 7 Aggies are 33-8 overall and 14-6 in SEC play after taking two of three at Florida, marking their fifth straight SEC series victory.

It was also Texas A&M’s first road series win over the Gators since joining the league, and it came one week after a road sweep of LSU. That’s not just momentum. That’s a team peaking at the right time.

Now the stakes get even bigger in College Station.

After a midweek matchup with Tarleton State, No. 8 Auburn visits Blue Bell Park for a series with major SEC and NCAA Tournament implications.

Texas A&M enters the week just a half-game behind Georgia for first place in the SEC standings, keeping the Aggies firmly in the regular-season title race with three conference series remaining before the SEC Tournament.

It’s also been a dramatic turnaround for second-year coach Michael Earley. After last season ended with Texas A&M’s worst regular-season finish in more than a decade, athletic director Trev Alberts stuck with him.

That decision looked shaky when the Aggies opened SEC play 1-4. Since then, they’ve looked like one of the hottest teams in college baseball.

Baseball America’s latest NCAA Tournament projection reflects that rise, placing Texas A&M as the No. 6 overall seed in a regional with Cincinnati, Virginia Tech and Army.

That path would put the Aggies in a strong position to chase their first Super Regional appearance since 2024.

The formula is clear now. Keep winning SEC series, protect home field and stay near the top of the standings. If Texas A&M does that, a Top 5 national seed and a valuable postseason path are both very much in play.
