Texas A&M is pushing for three-star WR Briceson Thrower, but Texas may have the edge before his Saturday commitment reveal.

Texas A&M football recruiting is already hot, and Saturday could tell us whether the Aggies have another late twist coming at wide receiver.

Three-star wideout Briceson Thrower is set to announce his commitment at 7 p.m. CT, choosing from Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech, Illinois and Ohio State.

His decision will be broadcast on CBS Sports’ YouTube channel, and the timing adds even more juice to a massive recruiting weekend in College Station.

Mike Elko’s staff is hosting several major targets, including five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson and five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson.

The Aggies also just flipped rising three-star safety Errol Kerns, giving the weekend a real “something’s happening” feel.

Now Thrower becomes the next name to watch.

Texas A&M signed four wide receivers in the 2026 class, led by Aaron Gregory, who has already created buzz after a strong spring.

In the 2027 cycle, the Aggies currently have four-star Jaden Upshaw committed, but they’re still hunting more pass-catching firepower.

Five-star Eric McFarland took his official visit last weekend, while Thrower also made his way to College Station before speeding up his commitment timeline.

Thrower had official visits scheduled with Texas Tech, Illinois and Texas this month, but he’s now ready to shut things down earlier than expected.

That can mean confidence. It can also mean chaos.

Texas is viewed as a serious threat and may be positioned to win this first round.

Still, Texas A&M offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins has been tied into Thrower’s recruitment since his days coaching receivers, and that relationship could keep the Aggies swinging even after Saturday.

Thrower’s recruitment has SEC spice, Big Ten pressure and in-state bragging rights all over it.

Texas A&M may not be the favorite today, but the Aggies aren’t acting like a program ready to back off.
