Texas A&M’s No. 1-ranked 2027 class could get even stronger with Joshua Dobson and Albert Simien trending toward the Aggies.

Texas A&M football already owns the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, and Mike Elko might be getting ready to drop the hammer again.

The Aggies hosted another loaded official visit weekend in College Station, with five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson headlining the group.

Dobson has already made it clear Texas A&M is sitting in a strong position, even though Michigan and South Carolina remain on his official visit schedule for now.

Dobson is ranked as the No. 2 cornerback in the country, and On3 recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong has pointed to Texas A&M as the team to beat after what could end up being Dobson’s final visit before a commitment.

If the Aggies finish this one off, it would be another monster win for Elko’s defensive rebuild.

The cornerback board is fascinating because Texas A&M has also been battling for five-star John Meredith, the nation’s No. 1 cornerback.

Meredith recently visited College Station before taking an official visit to Texas, and the Longhorns appear to have momentum after that trip.

The Aggies aren’t completely out of it, especially if Meredith returns to campus, but Dobson feels like the cleaner path right now.

Either way, landing one of the top two corners in the country would be a massive addition.

And the Aggies aren’t just hunting defensive backs.

Five-star offensive lineman Albert Simien remains another major name to watch.

Wiltfong has stayed with his Texas A&M prediction, even with Simien scheduled to visit Notre Dame on June 19. If the Aggies land Simien, they’ll add another elite trench piece to a class that already looks built to last in the SEC.

Texas A&M now has 20 commitments after adding five-star kicker Andres von der Meden on Monday. The class already has star power, balance and in-state momentum.

If Dobson and Simien jump in next, the Aggies won’t just be No. 1. They’ll look hard to catch.
