Texas A&M recruiting is already looking dangerous in 2027, and now the Aggies may be closing in on one of the most intriguing sleeper tight ends in the country.
Holden Niemi, a 6-4, 210-pound prospect from Dexter, Michigan, is trending heavily toward Texas A&M as the Aggies continue building what could become a monster recruiting class.
While Niemi isn’t ranked like a headline-grabbing five-star yet, his offer sheet tells a very different story.
Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Florida, Auburn and Michigan have all been involved. That’s not the résumé of an overlooked project. That’s the profile of a player college coaches clearly believe is about to rise.
For Texas A&M, the timing matters. The Aggies don’t currently have a tight end committed in the 2027 class, and Niemi would give them a long, athletic piece with room to grow into a real weapon.
At 210 pounds, he’s still developing physically, but the frame is there. So is the national attention.
The Aggies’ momentum has been impossible to ignore. Texas A&M already has six 2027 commits viewed as five-star talents by at least one recruiting service, including elite offensive tackle Mark Matthews, one of the top overall players in the country.
Landing Matthews was a statement. Getting in position for Niemi would be another example of A&M identifying and attacking premium talent before the rest of the rankings fully catch up.
That’s what makes this recruitment so interesting. Niemi is currently listed outside the top tier nationally, but his offer list screams future riser.
When programs like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Michigan are circling, the rankings usually don’t stay quiet for long.
There’s also a strong developmental pitch in College Station. Texas A&M recently helped tight end Nate Boerkircher boost his NFL stock in a major way, and that kind of proof matters on the recruiting trail.
For a player like Niemi, who may still be scratching the surface, the Aggies can sell both opportunity and growth.
This isn’t just about filling a need. It’s about finding a player before he becomes obvious. If Texas A&M finishes this one, Holden Niemi may not stay “under the radar” much longer.
