Texas A&M could make program history in the 2026 NFL Draft as Mike Elko’s Aggies look poised for a major pro football showcase.
Texas A&M football could be headed for one of the biggest NFL Draft weekends in program history.
The 2026 NFL Draft begins Thursday night, and the Aggies enter the event with a chance to make a serious statement.
Texas A&M could have as many as five players taken in the first two rounds, which would represent a massive win for Mike Elko and a program trying to turn strong recruiting and player development into championship-level results.
That’s the real story in College Station right now. Texas A&M hasn’t reached the national title stage yet, but the Aggies are building the kind of NFL pipeline that elite programs use as proof of concept.
For recruits, the message is simple: come to Aggieland, compete in the SEC and get yourself ready for Sundays.
Elko’s impact has started to show quickly. In his second season leading Texas A&M, the Aggies already had three players selected within the first two rounds.
Now, the 2026 class has a chance to raise the bar again. If the projections hold, Texas A&M could be represented early, often and potentially across all seven rounds.
The draft also matters beyond the names called on stage.
Undrafted free agents can carve out real NFL careers, and Texas A&M is expected to have several more players draw interest once the final pick is made Saturday.
This year’s draft is being held at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, home of the Steelers. Coverage runs from Thursday, April 23, through Saturday, April 25.
Round 1 begins Thursday at 7 p.m. CT. Rounds 2 and 3 start Friday at 5 p.m. CT, while Rounds 4 through 7 begin Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
Fans can watch the 2026 NFL Draft on NFL Network, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, with streaming available through NFL+ and Fubo.
For Texas A&M, this weekend could be more than a draft. It could be a recruiting billboard.
