Texas A&M freshman Aaron Gregory is already flashing big-play potential as the Aggies reshape their receiver room after losing KC Concepcion.

Texas A&M football is moving into a new chapter at wide receiver, and freshman Aaron Gregory is making sure his name stays in the conversation.

Former Aggies standout KC Concepcion was taken No. 24 overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2026 NFL Draft, giving Texas A&M its highest-drafted wide receiver since Mike Evans went in the first round in 2014.

Concepcion is now preparing for Browns rookie minicamp, but his latest appearance back in College Station created another interesting storyline for the Aggies.

In a workout video shared by Texas A&M, Concepcion was seen training alongside Gregory, and the freshman didn’t look out of place.

Gregory showed sharp footwork, clean route tempo and natural hands — the same traits that helped him generate buzz throughout spring practice.

That matters because Texas A&M has a major production void to address without Concepcion. Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton is expected to be the top option at the X receiver spot after bringing size, experience and proven production to College Station.

Horton, who previously spent time at Miami before joining Alabama, finished his most recent season with 511 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

At 6-4, Horton gives Mike Elko’s offense a big, reliable target. But Gregory could give the Aggies something different behind him ... a young receiver with enough polish to earn early snaps if he continues progressing.

He’s not the only freshman making noise. Madden Williams, Jayden Warren and Mike Brown also flashed during the spring, giving Texas A&M a deeper and more intriguing receiver room than some expected after Concepcion’s exit.

Still, Gregory’s development is worth watching closely. Elko’s staff has shown a willingness to rotate players when the depth is strong, and Gregory’s route-running already looks advanced for a freshman.

Concepcion’s departure was significant. But if Horton stabilizes the position and Gregory keeps climbing, the Aggies may have more answers at receiver than expected.
