Texas A&M will pair its special camouflage uniforms with matching Kyle Field end zones as the Aggies celebrate the university’s 150th anniversary.

Texas A&M is giving Kyle Field a completely different look for Saturday night’s SEC matchup with Arkansas.

The Aggies will wear their special “Honor and Support” camouflage uniforms, and the theme will extend all the way to the field.

Instead of the traditional maroon end zones with white lettering, Kyle Field will feature camouflage end zones with “Texas A&M” displayed in maroon and outlined in white.

The uniform design is tied directly to the school’s history.

Texas A&M says the desert camouflage pattern draws inspiration from the khaki uniforms worn by the Corps of Cadets, along with the dried grasslands and rolling hills surrounding Aggieland.

The uniform also includes details honoring the Aggie Ring and the Spirit of ’02 field gun.

Saturday’s game will serve as part of the university’s 150th anniversary celebration, marking a century and a half since Texas A&M was founded in 1876.

Head coach Mike Elko said the symbolism behind the uniforms makes the occasion more meaningful.

“It’s pretty cool that we are able to break out the camo uniforms as it symbolizes what this university stands for,” Elko said. “We are excited for the opportunity.”

The Aggies could also use something worth celebrating on the field.

Texas A&M enters the matchup at 2-2 overall and 0-2 in SEC play after consecutive losses to Kentucky and LSU. Elko’s team is trying to stop that slide and capture its first conference victory of the season.

Arkansas arrives at 2-2 under first-year coach Ryan Silverfield, but recent history in the rivalry strongly favors A&M.

The Aggies have won four consecutive meetings and 13 of the past 14, although Arkansas still owns a 42-37-3 advantage in the all-time series.

This will also be only the third Texas A&M-Arkansas meeting in College Station since the Aggies joined the SEC, following years of games played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT Saturday on ESPN2.

The Aggies will have the uniforms, the end zones and the anniversary celebration.

Now they need the result to match the occasion.
