Texas A&M is turning up the heat on four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen as Mike Elko’s No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class keeps building momentum.
Texas A&M football already has the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, but Mike Elko clearly isn’t ready to coast.
After stacking another five-star commitment, the Aggies are now pushing hard for four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen, a New Jersey standout who could become the next major piece in an already loaded defensive haul.

The Aggies added five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland last Sunday, giving A&M six five-star pledges in the 2027 cycle.
That commitment came just days after five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson picked Texas A&M over Notre Dame during an announcement on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
For most programs, that would be enough reason to celebrate and reset the board.
Not in College Station.
Elko and linebackers coach Travis Williams are still hunting, and Allen has emerged as one of the biggest names to watch.
After taking an official visit to Texas A&M, Allen has reportedly become a serious Aggies target, with A&M and Syracuse appearing to be two of the strongest contenders in his recruitment.
The timing matters, too.
Texas A&M missed earlier this week on five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who committed to South Carolina.
That loss didn’t wreck the Aggies’ class, but it did shift some attention toward the next priority targets.
Allen now sits high on that list, along with five-star running back Landon Williams-Callis.
There’s a clear roster reason for the push. Senior linebacker Daymion Sanford is expected to move on after the 2026 season, and Tulsa transfer Ray Coney is also projected to depart.
Sophomore Noah Mikhail is expected to take on a major role this season and could anchor the position group over the next two years, but A&M needs depth and future difference-makers behind him.
The Aggies signed four linebackers in the 2026 class, and those players should compete for rotational snaps or starting jobs in 2027.
Adding Henderson already gives Texas A&M a headline talent at the position. Landing Allen would make the room even nastier.
Allen’s production backs up the attention. During his 2025 junior season, he recorded 58 tackles, seven sacks, three forced fumbles and three interceptions.
For Elko, that versatility fits the blueprint. Texas A&M is building a defense with length, speed and chaos potential across every level.
The Aggies already own the country’s top 2027 class. If they land Mikahi Allen, that grip only gets tighter.
