Howell is looming as a first-round prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft, and it appears the Super Bowl champs might have their eye on him.

The NFL Draft is just around the corner, and for players like Texas A&M's Cashius Howell, they are putting the finishing touches on an offseason that will give them the best shot at being drafted.

Howell is coming off a stellar 2025 season with the Aggies, as he earned All-American honors.

The twitchy EDGE posted 11.5 sacks and 14.0 tackles for loss in just 13 games to be a dominant force along the defensive line.

There will be a lot of interest to see where Howell ends up landing to begin his NFL career, with several teams needing a pass rusher to come into the rotation and be productive -- that's Howell.

Not seen as a player to be taken early in the first round, but what about towards the end of it?

For CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, he has Howell landing with the Seattle Seahawks at pick No. 32.

"They lost Boye Mafe, one of their rotational pieces, to the Bengals in free agency, so they need more help," Prisco writes. "They won the Super Bowl because of their front. They could also consider a back here, but I think they wait."

So in this scenario, Howell would come to Mike Macdonald's defense and would be looked at as a player who can help the Seahawks win now.

With the Seahawks having DeMarcus Lawrence and Leonard Williams as their starters on the defensive line, Howell could be a nice rotational piece who can go quarterback hunting for Seattle.

A speed merchant on the edge, several draft evaluators have Howell's ability to win around the edge with speed as a big tick, along with his ability to be versatile, sometimes lining up at linebacker as well.

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein thinks Howell's ability against the run needs improvement, which means he will likely be a straight pass rush threat early on.

"Howell might not be a three-down player right away, but his ability to create pressure sets him up for a role as a designated rusher, at minimum," Zierlein wrote.

After a productive two seasons with Texas A&M, Howell has put himself well and truly in the crosshairs of teams in the first round, and landing in Seattle might be the ideal place for the edge rusher to hone his craft.
