Texas A&M football is building major momentum for 2027 wide receiver Jaden Upshaw as the Aggies chase another blue-chip pledge in a red-hot class.
Texas A&M football keeps gaining steam on the recruiting trail, and the Aggies may be closing in on another headline addition.
With Mike Elko’s 2027 class already sitting at No. 1 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings after the commitment of five-star edge Zyron Forstall, Texas A&M is now trending toward four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw ahead of his April 15 decision.
Upshaw has become one of the most important names to watch in the 2027 cycle.
The Lee County standout from Georgia is down to four finalists: Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida and Miami.
Rivals/On3 coverage has Texas A&M firmly in the conversation, and Steve Wiltfong recently reported the Aggies are trending in the right direction as the announcement date approaches.
The fit makes plenty of sense.
Upshaw brings size at about 6-1 and 196 pounds, and his junior production shows why so many major programs stayed involved.
According to 247Sports, he posted 47 catches for 902 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games in 2025, even while missing time because of injury.
That kind of production, paired with his physical style after the catch, gives Texas A&M a potential difference-maker if it can close the deal.
There’s also a bigger-picture angle here for the Aggies. If Texas A&M lands Upshaw and stays in the hunt for other elite pass catchers, the class starts looking even more dangerous offensively.
Forstall already gave the group a signature defensive piece, and adding a top-100 receiver would only strengthen the idea that Elko’s staff is putting together one of the nation’s most balanced hauls.
Upshaw is currently ranked as the No. 72 overall prospect, the No. 12 wide receiver and the No. 5 player in Georgia by 247Sports.
If Texas A&M wins this battle, it’ll be another major statement in what is quickly becoming one of the country’s best 2027 recruiting runs.
