Texas A&M faces Houston in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32, with the Aggies chasing a Sweet 16 berth as double-digit underdogs in a brutal matchup.

Texas A&M vs. Houston is one of the most intriguing NCAA Tournament Round of 32 matchups because the Aggies walk in with confidence, but the Cougars bring the kind of pressure that can break a team fast.

A&M has a puncher’s chance, but it’ll have to survive one of the toughest tests left in the bracket.

Texas A&M is trying to reach its first Sweet 16 since 2018, and advanced by handling Saint Mary’s 63-50 in a game that looked exactly like Bucky McMillan wants it to look.

Texas A&M forced 18 turnovers, played with pace, stayed aggressive, and never let the game slip away.

That formula now gets tested against a Houston team that steamrolled its opener and looked every bit like a national title threat.

Still, the Aggies aren’t coming in empty-handed. Rashaun Agee leads Texas A&M with 14.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, while Jacari Lane averages 3.1 assists and helps keep the offense moving.

Rylan Griffen brings defensive activity with 1.6 steals per game, and that matters against a Houston team led by Kingston Flemings, who posts 16.4 points, 5.3 assists, and 1.6 steals a night.

Chris Cenac Jr. adds 7.8 rebounds and gives the Cougars another physical edge.

This game probably comes down to whether Texas A&M can speed Houston up without losing itself.

If the Aggies start forcing turnovers, hit timely threes, and turn the game into a full-court headache, they can make things uncomfortable.

But if Houston settles in, controls the glass, and plays its usual brand of disciplined toughness, A&M’s March run could end here.
