Former Texas A&M star Myles Garrett has been at the top of his game for the past handful of years in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns.
Stuck, to an extent, in Cleveland, Garrett will be once again the face of yet another overhaul with Todd Monken coming in as the Browns' new head coach.
But surely Garrett is tired of the constant poor seasons and hardly ever getting close enough to sniff the playoffs, right?
Well, we have heard that the Dallas Cowboys are in the market for a pass rusher, and not just your run-of-the-mill type guy either -- a true difference maker.
That brings us to Myles.
He has had links to the Cowboys before but nothing came of it, but now? Who knows.
His name hasn't been thrown around at all this offseason, but that doesn't mean he can't be a target for someone.
Now, the big thing is, does Monken want to trade away his best player as he steps foot into the job? Not likely.
But as we know in the NFL, everything has a price. Even Garrett.
His four-year, $160 million deal could be a stumbling block for the Cowboys, but we know owner Jerry Jones intends to borrow money from the future and bust the budget this offseason.
Getting Garrett would need both of those things to happen.
It wouldn't be an easy thing to accomplish for either side.
The Browns would be on the hook for either $41 million (pre-June 1 trade) or $15 million in dead money (post June 1 trade), and it would leave their defense without a genuine stud.
Conversely, the Cowboys need a player like Garrett. After all, they did trade Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers last offseason. And what was one of Dallas' biggest deficiencies? Yep, pass rush.
But the price to get Myles out of Cleveland would be huge.
The Cowboys reportedly didn't want to offer two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders to land Maxx Crosby, and one would think that two firsts would be the starting point in talks for Garrett.
If the Cowboys are hellbent on following through on their big talk this offseason, going after Garrett and bringing him home would qualify.
Yes, it would be hard (dear I say nearly impossible) due to what Dallas would have to give up, plus the financial side, but getting Garrett to The Star would signal to the rest of the NFL that the Cowboys are for real in 2026.
And of course, the homecoming for Myles is nice too.
