Texas saw three players voted to the All-SEC First Team for this season.

The SEC announced its All-Conference teams for the 2025 football season, and eight members of the Texas Longhorns were recognized.

Sophomore edge rusher Colin Simmons, senior safety Michael Taaffe and sophomore offensive lineman Trevor Goosby were named to the All-SEC First Team.

The four Longhorns named to the Second Team were sophomore wide receiver Ryan Wingo, junior linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., junior defensive back Malik Muhammad and sophomore kick returner Ryan Niblett. Senior offensive lineman DJ Campbell received All-Conference Third Team honors.

Simmons was named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year in college football last season and earns his second nod to an All-SEC team. He led the Longhorns in sacks with 11.0, ranking second in the SEC in the category, along with totaling 13.5 tackles for loss, 15 quarterback pressures and three forced fumbles.

Taaffe, the Austin native and vocal leader in the locker room, ends his storied Longhorn career as a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy and Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, as well as a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award and Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award. Taaffe posted the second-most tackles on the team this season despite missing two games. He appeared in 53 games with 36 starts in his five years with the Longhorns.

Goosby stepped into the tall task of replacing first-round NFL draft pick and All-American left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. this season. Perhaps Goosby's best game came in Texas' regular-season finale when he allowed no sacks or pressures as the highest-graded lineman in the Longhorns' win over rival Texas A&M and their stout defensive line. Goosby is expected to grow his relationship with first-year starting quarterback Arch Manning as he protects his signal-caller again in 2026.

Of the rest of the postseason honorees, Hill, who was a First-Team selection last season, has been the first to opt out of Texas' upcoming bowl game as he enters into the 2026 NFL Draft process. Muhammad and Taaffe are also strong candidates to make the step to the next level, but it has not been announced whether they will participate in the bowl game.

The No. 13 Longhorns face No. 18 Michigan in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in Orlando on Dec. 31.
