Former Texas star Dailyn Swain is headed to the NBA Draft Combine after a breakout Longhorns season boosted his draft stock.

Dailyn Swain’s rise from Texas standout to NBA Draft prospect is headed for another major stage.

The former Longhorn has officially earned an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, where many of the top prospects in college basketball will try to strengthen their case before draft night.

For Swain, it’s another sign of how much his stock climbed during one electric season in Austin.

Swain transferred from Xavier to Texas and quickly became one of Sean Miller’s most reliable offensive weapons.

He averaged a career-best 17.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists while appearing in 36 games, giving the Longhorns a dynamic scorer who could impact the game in several ways.

His biggest leap came from the perimeter. Swain shot 34.4 percent from 3-point range, a career high that helped answer questions about how his scoring would translate against SEC competition.

The production also brought national recognition. Swain was named SEC Newcomer of the Year and earned second-team All-SEC honors after helping Texas make a surprising March Madness run in Miller’s first season leading the program.

Now, Swain enters the combine with a chance to push even higher on draft boards.

He’s already viewed as a potential first-round pick, and some projections have connected him to the Denver Nuggets. A strong showing in Chicago could make that draft range even more interesting.

Teams looking for a versatile wing scorer will have plenty to study. Swain showed at Texas that he can create offense, rebound his position and take over stretches of a game.

For the Longhorns, his combine invite is another reminder that Miller’s program is quickly gaining national traction. For Swain, it’s a chance to prove his breakout was only the beginning.
