Former Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. signed his rookie deal with the Tennessee Titans after a standout Longhorns career.

The former Texas Longhorns linebacker signed his rookie contract with the Tennessee Titans on Friday, joining seven members of the team’s 2026 draft class to finalize their first professional deals. Now the focus shifts from paperwork to proving his college production can travel to Sundays.

Hill leaves Texas with one of the strongest defensive résumés of any Longhorn in recent years. Across 40 career games, the Texas native recorded 249 total tackles and 17 sacks, giving the Titans a young linebacker with proven playmaking ability.
His final college season showed why Tennessee saw him as a potential defensive building block. Even though Hill was limited to 10 games, he still finished with 69 tackles and set a career high with two interceptions.
That versatility matters for a Titans defense trying to rebuild after a 3-14 season and a last-place finish in the AFC South.
Hill’s awards profile backs up the production. He was named a Second-Team All-American, became a Butkus Award finalist and previously earned Chuck Bednarik Award semifinalist recognition after a 113-tackle sophomore season.
That kind of background creates real expectations, but Hill has already handled pressure.
At Texas, he was asked to run, hit, rush and cover. At his best, he looked like one of the most disruptive linebackers in college football.
Tennessee also gives Hill a familiar connection in former Longhorn Gunnar Helm, who can help him adjust to the NFL routine.
The Titans need young defensive talent to hit quickly, and Hill has the traits to become part of that answer.
His rookie deal is signed. His college chapter is closed. Now, one of Texas’ most productive defenders gets his first chance to help change the tone in Tennessee.
