The Longhorns got back in the winner's list last week vs. Ole Miss, and now eyes are on Texas to see if it can continue its winning ways.
The Texas Longhorns will welcome the Mississippi State Bulldogs to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday, with Steve Sarkisian's team looking to hold onto that winning feeling.
After last week's 34-27 win over Ole Miss that snapped a two-game losing streak, the pitchforks have been put away for at least a week.
Coming up against a Bulldogs team that hasn't won in three weeks, this game, at least on paper, has a "get right" vibe to it for the Longhorns.
Of course, what they've shown us this season suggests no game is an "easy" one, as the offense has been like a yo-yo form-wise, but still, this is a game Sarkisian's team should be winning, and comfortably.
Look for Arch Manning to look like a far better version of himself, while trying to limit those pesky turnovers.
While behind him, Raleek Brown is coming off a monster day against Ole Miss, where he rushed for 157 yards on 23 carries, and receiver Ryan Wingo was unstoppable with 111 yards and a touchdown.
So those three loom large in this one, and if they can get close enough to the form they hit last week, this should be a game where the Longhorns, if they are good enough, won't be challenged too much.
As for Mississippi State, it's been a tough struggle the past three weeks (all losses), with the offense only managing 15 points in its last two games.
Sitting at 4-3, the Bulldogs need something to fall their way, but don't expect it to be here as Texas looks primed to flex its muscles.
But quarterback Kemario Taylor has thrown 17 TDs in his six games, while only having four interceptions, while Anthony Evans III (647 yards, 5 TDs) looms as the one key weapon the Longhorns' defense has to stop.
And I think they will.
