Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. has a visit scheduled with the Dallas Cowboys.
Texas Longhorns linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. has seen his name be mentioned often as a potential player the Dallas Cowboys might look to draft.
With Hill Jr. seen as a player who can slot into an NFL defense, and in particular, be effective for Christian Parker, there are some who think that the linebacker, who plays with a nasty streak, could go off the board in the first couple of rounds.
But the Cowboys links didn't give us anything definitive, as Hill Jr. wasn't invited as part of the visits Brian Schottenheimer and the front office have organized.
Well, that has now changed.
Per DLLS' Clarence Hill Jr., the Cowboys have scheduled a visit with Hill Jr.
So, now there is something tangible to the rumors.
Given that the Cowboys are desperately looking to fill the linebacker spot and find someone to pair with DeMarvion Overshown, having two Longhorns playing for Dallas would be something special.
Known for his nasty streak and versatility in rushing the passer and clogging running lanes, Hill Jr.'s name has come up often.
A genuine three-down defender, Hill Jr. could be a valuable piece for any NFL defense he lands on. There are some who think that Hill Jr. will be a second-round selection, while others think he could go late in the first round.
Considering the Cowboys hold the No. 12 and No. 20 picks in the first round, taking Hill Jr. at No. 20 seems like a little bit of a reach, but the Cowboys don't have a second-round selection. Instead, a third after the first round.
So if the Cowboys were really interested in selecting Hill Jr., they might have to trade back from No. 20 to acquire more picks or take him high.
After a stellar 2024 season in which Hill Jr. posted 16.5 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks, his numbers dipped in 2025 (7.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks), but he remained very productive.
Exactly where Hill Jr. gets drafted is unknown, but the Cowboys are now doing their due diligence on the star Longhorn, and who knows, maybe he'll join Agent 0 as the next Texas linebacker to arrive at The Star.
