Texas men’s tennis earned four All-SEC selections, while Bruce Berque repeated as Coach of the Year after another championship run.

Texas men’s tennis is still collecting hardware after another championship season, and the SEC made it official Thursday with a major round of postseason honors for the nation’s No. 1 team.

Head coach Bruce Berque was named SEC Coach of the Year for the second straight season, while four Longhorns earned All-SEC recognition.

Senior Sebastian Gorzny landed on the First Team, freshmen Kalin Ivanovski and sophomore Sebastian Eriksson made the Second Team, and freshman Lucas Marionneau was selected to the All-Freshman Team.

For Berque, the award adds another layer to one of the strongest coaching runs in college tennis. He’s now won five conference coach of the year honors at Texas, including three straight overall when combining Big 12 and SEC recognition.

This year’s Longhorns are 24-6 overall and 12-2 in SEC play, with outright regular-season and tournament titles in each of their first two years in the league. Texas also won the ITA National Indoor Championship for the first time in program history.

Gorzny has been the headliner on court. Ranked No. 2 nationally in singles, he owns a 24-6 record, including 18-4 in dual matches and 7-2 in SEC play at No. 1 singles.

He was named MVP of the SEC Championship and also earned Most Outstanding Player honors at the ITA National Indoor Championships.

Ivanovski, who joined Texas in January, climbed as high as No. 19 nationally despite battling injuries.

He went 9-6 at No. 2 singles and clinched the Longhorns’ ITA indoor title win over Ohio State.

Eriksson added a 19-10 singles mark and a 17-7 doubles record, while Marionneau delivered a perfect 11-0 SEC singles record and a team-best seven clinches.

Now, Texas turns its attention to the NCAA Tournament selection show Monday, where hosting and seeding await.
