Texas offensive lineman Laurance Seymore is entering the 2026 college football season with major expectations, and it’s easy to see why.
The Texas Longhorns guard has been ranked No. 8 among the top returning guards in college football, giving Steve Sarkisian’s offensive line another proven name to lean on in front of quarterback Arch Manning.
Interior offensive line play is becoming more important across college football as defenses get more aggressive with pressure looks, stunts and blitzes.
That puts a premium on experienced guards who can hold up in pass protection while still creating movement in the run game.
Seymore fits that profile, and his resume suggests he could be one of the most important under-the-radar additions on Texas’ roster this fall.
The 6-2, 320-pound redshirt senior arrives in Austin with a ton of experience and a reputation for being difficult to beat.
Seymore earned second-team All-American honors in 2025 and turned in one of the better pass-blocking seasons in the country.
Over 503 pass-blocking snaps, he surrendered only one sack and eight total pressures, numbers that jump out for any interior lineman.
That kind of consistency is exactly what Texas needs to protect Manning in a high-powered offense that should again be one of the most closely watched units in the country.
Seymore also brings a veteran presence that can steady the line. He has logged 1,328 career snaps during college stops at Miami, Akron and Western Kentucky, giving him the kind of mileage coaches value in the trenches.
His path to Texas is unusual, too. After winning an NCAA appeal for a sixth year of eligibility, Seymore now gets one more opportunity to make a major impact at the highest level of the sport.
Being ranked No. 8 nationally among returning guards doesn’t just reflect past production. It highlights what Seymore could mean for Texas in 2026 as the Longhorns chase another big season in the SEC.
