The Longhorns are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, so it's no surprise to see a handful named in PFF's top 50 players list for 2026.
Much of the focus for Texas Longhorns fans in 2026 will be on quarterback Arch Manning, and rightly so.
He's set to be one of the best quarterbacks in college football, and he is expected to be a top draft pick next offseason, but the Longhorns are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.
One name that has continued to pop up as a player who could have himself a stellar year in 2026 is receiver Cam Coleman.
He transferred from Auburn after two good years of production (1,306 yards, 13 TDs). Now, he comes to Steve Sarkisian's offense and is seen by many to be the guy for Arch.
Of course, it could take time to gel, but many draft experts are already viewing Coleman as one of the best receivers in college football ahead of 2026.
That is a big call for a player who has yet to step on a field with the Longhorns, but that just shows the potential that Cam has in his locker.
And then there's this.
PFF has released a portion of its top 50 college players ahead of the 2026 season, and to no one's surprise, Coleman lands on this list, coming in at No. 40.
"Coleman’s sky-high potential could finally be maximized in Steve Sarkisian’s offense," PFF wrote. "Despite a horrid quarterback situation and stiff usage, Coleman led Auburn with 708 receiving yards and five touchdowns last season.
"His penchant for spectacular plays was evident, as he led all SEC players with 13 contested catches in 2025. Catching passes from Arch Manning should allow Coleman to make a huge impact on Texas’ offense."
Exactly what we can expect from Coleman is a little unknown, but his returns at Auburn saw him post 708 yards last season, and his 8 TDs were his best in 2024.
I'd imagine that in Sarkisian's offense, and Manning running things, Coleman is nearly odds-on to have a career year with the Longhorns.
Given that Texas is seen as one of the best teams in college football, Coleman is going to get his lick of the ice cream often, and for a player who still put up decent numbers at Auburn with everything going on there, what he could do with a settled Texas offense led by the nation's best quarterback is a tantalizing prospect.
Is a big year coming for Cam? It's hard not to see it happening.
