Texas women’s basketball will appear on ABC three times in January, including marquee SEC matchups against South Carolina, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Texas women’s basketball is getting another major national television spotlight.
ESPN announced that the Longhorns will play three SEC regular-season games on ABC during the 2026-27 season, giving Texas a prominent January window against South Carolina, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
The matchups are part of ABC’s national college basketball schedule for the upcoming season.
The biggest game comes first.
Texas will host South Carolina on Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. CT at Moody Center. ESPN’s early rankings have South Carolina No. 1 and Texas No. 8, making the matchup one of the headline games on ABC’s women’s basketball slate.
One week later, the Longhorns travel to Lexington for another nationally televised SEC test against Kentucky on Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. CT.
Texas then returns to Austin to host Vanderbilt on Jan. 17 at noon CT, completing a stretch of three ABC appearances in 15 days.
The expanded exposure comes after Texas produced strong television numbers last season.
The Longhorns’ regular-season matchup against Oklahoma on ABC drew 1.1 million viewers, making it one of ESPN’s most-watched women’s college basketball games of the 2025-26 regular season.
Texas also drew 1.4 million viewers for its SEC Tournament championship victory over South Carolina on ESPN.
The Longhorns are coming off a 35-4 season that included a second consecutive Final Four appearance, the 2026 SEC Tournament championship and a third straight No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Texas also recorded a nation-leading 16 victories over ranked opponents.
That recent success has helped make Texas one of the sport’s most visible programs, and ABC is putting the Longhorns squarely in the national spotlight again this winter.
