Top running back prospect Landen Williams-Callis chooses between Texas, SMU, Texas A&M, Houston and Missouri on Saturday night.
Five-star Richmond Randle (TX) running back Landen Williams-Callis makes his college commitment on Saturday.
After a historic three high school seasons and over 40 scholarship offers from the top programs in the country, Williams-Callis will choose between Texas, SMU, Texas A&M, Houston and Missouri.
His commitment will air live on various platforms by Dave Campbell's Texas Football, which made Williams-Callis the magazine's first solo high school cover athlete since Cedric Benson in 2000.
"It's a blessing," Landen told the publication. "I just put in the work; I deserve it. I've just been staying down, putting my head down and staying humble, because [I] wouldn't be here without God."
Dating back to before he starred at Randle, Williams-Callis received the "absurd, hilarious, borderline-inappropriate" nickname of "Baby Jesus". His high school career is indeed spoken of as if its a tale passed on to generations.
Randle rode Williams-Callis' heroics to the school's first UIL Class 5A Division II state championship in Landen's sophomore year. He brought home the title game's Offensive MVP honors after he took a kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown and ended the game with over 100 yards rushing.
As a junior, Williams-Callis was back at AT&T Stadium for the state championship after rushing for over 3,500 yards and 59 touchdowns on the season. This time, he broke the championship record with a 103-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, but ultimately South Oak Cliff got the victory.
His 4,035 all-purpose yards last season set a Houston area single-season record in 2025.
Going into his senior season, Williams-Callis has totaled 7,551 career rush yards and 133 touchdowns to become one of the most sought-after recruits in Texas high school football history at the position.
Williams-Callis is ranked as the No. 3 running back in the country, which would give Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns yet another coveted ball-carrier prospect to build around.
Texas, in recent years, has become an NFL pipeline for elite running backs, with names like Bijan Robinson, Jaydon Blue, Jonathon Brooks and Roschon Johnson each making the jump to the pros.
The history is even more significant, with Earl Campbell, Benson, Ricky Williams, and Jamall Charles having iconic careers in the burnt orange before the NFL.
Landen Williams-Callis could be next.
His commitment will come at 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 1.
