Linebacker Jacob Rodriguez has seen his stock rise over the past two weeks, and now comes a glowing endorsement.

Texas Tech's Jacob Rodriguez is beginning to see his draft stock climb as the big day in April edges ever closer.

With the consensus being that Rodriguez isn't a first-round talent, but a second or third-round pick, the Red Raider will no doubt hear his name called.

But where? That is anyone's guess.

Plenty of teams need good, competent linebacker play, and that is right in Rodriguez's wheelhouse.

He just needs a chance to show his skills.

A strong playmaker with a high football IQ, Rodriguez will be a great get for the team that eventually selects him.

And if teams were a little unsure over what Jacob can offer, ESPN's Mike Tannenbaum has named Rodriguez as one player he would bang on the table for in the third round.

Oh, and he also has a nice comparison for him as well.

"Rodriguez reminds me so much of Hall of Famer Zach Thomas," Tannenbaum wrote. "He has an incredible knack for forcing fumbles (seven last season, 13 over his career), and he picked off four passes in 2025. Typically when someone is that productive and instinctive, it carries over to the next level.

"I'd want him on my team, even though he's slightly undersized at 6-foot-1 and 231 pounds. It's sort of impossible to think he won't make it as a starter in the NFL."

So where could Jacob land?

The Dallas Cowboys have a clear need at linebacker, and reports suggest the franchise could add one before the draft.

Still, Rodriguez, in Christian Parker's defense, along with DeMarvion Overshown, is an interesting prospect.

A fast and versatile heat-seeking missile, Rodriguez and Agent 0 on the field would be a nice tandem.

As Tannenbaum states, he is a little undersized, but given his ability to force turnovers and diagnose plays in seconds, Jacob could find himself a starter in the league for a long time.

Some Cowboys fans love the idea of Rodriguez in Parker's defense, and it is easy to see why. He possesses everything Parker wants in his players.

Time will tell if he does land in Dallas, but even if he doesn't, he's still set to have a long and productive career in the NFL.
