Texas Tech finished fourth at the Big 12 Championship as Tim Wiedemeyer and Adam Bresnu earned all-tournament honors at Prairie Dunes.

Texas Tech men’s golf wrapped up the Big 12 Championship with a fourth-place finish Wednesday at Prairie Dunes Country Club, closing a difficult final round at 9-over for the tournament.

The No. 6 Red Raiders entered the day in fourth and held that position after shooting 8-over 288 in windy, cloudy conditions. Scoring was tough across the field, with the final round producing the highest team scoring average of the week.

Tim Wiedemeyer and Adam Bresnu gave Texas Tech its biggest highlights, both earning spots on the Big 12 All-Tournament Team. It’s the first time since 2017 that multiple Red Raiders have received all-tournament honors at the conference championship.

Wiedemeyer led Texas Tech individually, finishing seventh at 2-under 278. He closed with an even-par 70 on Wednesday after playing his first 11 holes at 1-under without a bogey.

Bresnu tied for ninth at even-par 280, battling through a tough back nine before answering with a birdie at No. 17 and a par at No. 18.

Ben Gregg finished tied for 29th at 6-over 286 after a final-round 74, while Connor Graham tied for 37th at 8-over 288 following a 2-over 72.

Simon Hovdal, inserted into the lineup during the tournament, added rounds of 70 and 74 over the final two days.

Oklahoma State won the Big 12 title at 10-under 1110, finishing eight shots ahead of Arizona. TCU took third at 1-under, while Texas Tech landed 19 shots behind the champion Cowboys.

Oklahoma State’s Preston Stout claimed medalist honors at 11-under.

Now, the Red Raiders turn their attention to the NCAA postseason. Texas Tech will learn its regional destination during the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Selection Show on May 6 on Golf Channel.
