Texas Tech softball just added serious firepower as Oklahoma All-American Kasidi Pickering brings championship experience and elite power to Lubbock.
Texas Tech softball didn’t just add another transfer. The Red Raiders grabbed one of the biggest bats in the country.
Kasidi Pickering, an All-American outfielder who spent three seasons at Oklahoma, is headed to Lubbock in a massive portal win for Gerry Glasco and Texas Tech.
For a program trying to build something louder, tougher and more dangerous in the Big 12, this is the kind of move that changes the room immediately.
Pickering arrives with a body of work that doesn’t need much dressing up.
She owns a career .384 batting average with 50 home runs and 169 RBI across 189 games. That’s not a hot streak. That’s sustained damage.
She was named an NFCA First Team All-American in 2025, also earning All-SEC First Team and NFCA First Team All-Midwest Region honors.
Softball America ranked her as the No. 2 transfer in the portal, and it’s easy to understand why.
Pickering hits for average, brings real power and has the patience to punish pitchers who try to work around her.
She drew at least 40 walks in each of her three seasons at Oklahoma.
The postseason edge matters, too. Pickering helped Oklahoma win the 2024 national championship and earned WCWS All-Tournament Team recognition along the way.
Her biggest swings came on the biggest stage, including home runs in both championship games against Texas.
That’s the kind of player Texas Tech is getting: battle-tested, productive and not remotely afraid of the moment.
Glasco’s portal class already had juice with Bradi Gallaway, Jayden Heavener and Moriah Polar.
Adding Pickering gives it headline power. She brings leadership, championship credibility and a bat that can anchor the middle of the order from day one.
Texas Tech softball is no longer quietly building. With Kasidi Pickering in the lineup, the Red Raiders just became a lot harder to ignore.
