Lucai Anderson, the younger brother of former Red Raider Christian Anderson, has received an offer from Grant McCasland and Texas Tech.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Grant McCasland took the first major step in bringing another elite point guard prospect into his Texas Tech program ... and he comes from a familiar family.

As announced on social media, class of 2027 combo guard Lucai Anderson, the younger brother Christian Anderson, has received a scholarship offer from the Red Raiders.

Lucai, a top-10 player in the state according to ESPN and 4-star recruit, has attended Trinity Christian Academy in Lubbock since his brother became a star for Texas Tech two seasons ago.

Christian Anderson recently enrolled in the NBA Draft process after an All-American campaign this past season in Lubbock. Now with an offer extended, the program could be gearing up for his younger brother to soon take the reins.

Both brothers have represented the German national team in their prep careers, and Lucai is fresh off a gold-medal-winning tournament overseas for the U18 team.

The 6-4 guard scored 15 points per game and shot 43 percent from 3-point range as Germany went 7-0 in the Albert Schweitzer Tournament.

Anderson explained how this experience in European-style basketball has helped him grow an understanding of the team-first approaches that are different from those in the U.S. and have helped him improve.

Lucai also credits watching Christian's journey at Texas Tech as a factor into his development.

"His journey, it's good to see because I can see the ways, like what he did and how he did it to get to where he is," he said

Would he like to follow in his brother's footsteps?

"I would say it's like a dual thing, like I'd like to follow but make it my own uniqueness at the same time. ... Difference as in just in the way I play and stuff like that."

At Trinity Christian, Anderson averaged 21 points per game this past season and was an All-State selection after earning TAPPS Offensive Player of the Year honors.

At the moment, Anderson's only other offer is from Arizona State, but this call from McCasland serves as a major launching point into his college recruitment.

It's one Red Raider fans will be following closely as the possibility of another Anderson prodigy playing the scarlet and black begins to grow.
