Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby Ranks Among Heisman Favorites

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are once again turning an oil-fueled commitment to NIL funding into one of the nation's best recruiting classes. ... and the Heisman Trophy people are surely taking notes.

Coach Joey McGuire's squad did this last year to set up a dominant run through the Big 12 to claim the program's first conference championship in over half a century.

And now?

Depending on which recruiting outlet you frequent, the Red Raiders have built a top-five transfer portal class yet again in 2026, adding to the expectations of another stellar season this coming fall.

Perhaps the most impactful player in the portal was the former Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby, who brings his talents to Lubbock after loads of speculation.

Sorsby joins his girlfriend Gretchen Sigman (TTU Volleyball) to form the campus' next power couple, and the QB's dual-threat talent suggests he has what it takes to take the reins from Behren Morton and lead another elite Red Raider offense.
