A one-of-a-kind partnership, the Red Raiders softball star is going center stage in the NIL space.
Softball eyewear company Solaro Shades announced Texas Tech utility star Kaitlyn Terry as the company's first signature athlete.
Terry, a First Team All-American for the national runner-up Red Raiders, is approaching a senior season in Lubbock where she's the top returner, both in the pitching staff and in the batting lineup.
As a result, Terry and Solaro will join forces to create a signature sunglasses line that the Arizona native will wear in-game, likely when she plays the outfield on off days pitching.
A custom colorway is "coming soon."
Star pitcher NiJaree Canady, whose eligibility just expired after two unforgettable seasons with Texas Tech, commented under the post above, showing support of her teammate and trying to get hooked up with a pair of her own.
"can I preorder??!" Canady typed.
According to On3, "Solaro Shades has quickly become one of the most recognizable eyewear brands among MLB and NCAA athletes."
Terry has been known to rock some flashy eyewear in the past, as well, making this a seamless partnership.
If the Red Raiders are aiming for another trip to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, they'll need Terry to be just as electric as she was this past season.
The UCLA transfer had her best hitting season in college by a wide margin, finishing third on the team with a .429 batting average. Terry totaled 84 hits, 10 home runs, 57 runs batted in, and 72 runs scored.
In the circle, Terry provided Canady with excellent relief ... at times looking more like a 1A-1B pairing than a starter and backup.
Terry had a 24-3 record with a 1.97 ERA in nearly 150 innings pitched.
Canady was a pioneer in the softball NIL space, notably becoming the first athlete to land a $1 million NIL salary from the Red Raiders' collective programs.
You can bet she imparted some of that wisdom in athlete marketing to her teammates.
For Terry, that results in a one-of-a-kind apparel deal just as she takes center stage as a leader on the team.
