Texas Tech guard Christian Anderson earns Big 12 Player of the Week after averaging 22.5 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in two statement wins.

Texas Tech basketball keeps stacking wins and Christian Anderson keeps stacking hardware. The Red Raiders’ sophomore star was named Big 12 Player of the Week after powering Texas Tech to a 2-0 stretch that strengthened its conference title push and NCAA Tournament resume.

If you’ve watched this team lately, the honor feels inevitable.

Anderson averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists across victories over Cincinnati and then-No. 4 Iowa State.

In the 80-68 win over the Bearcats, he exploded for 31 points, grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and dished seven assists - a stat line that screams control.

Days later in Ames, he calmly added 14 points and seven assists as Tech knocked off Iowa State 82-73, handing the Cyclones their first home loss of the season.

This marks Anderson’s third Big 12 Player of the Week award this year, and it couldn’t come at a more critical moment.

Since the season-ending injury to JT Toppin, Anderson has shifted into takeover mode. Over that stretch, he’s averaging 22.0 points per game - tied for 10th among all Power Conference players - while maintaining his Big 12-leading 7.7 assists per contest.

He isn’t just scoring more; he’s orchestrating everything.

And he’s not alone. Donovan Atwell joined Anderson on this week’s Big 12 Starting Five after torching opponents from deep.

Atwell went 10-of-19 from 3-point range in the two wins, averaging 15.0 points and stretching defenses to their breaking point.

His perimeter efficiency continues to fuel Texas Tech’s status as one of the nation’s most dangerous 3-point shooting teams.

This version of Texas Tech basketball isn’t surviving without Toppin. It’s evolving.

The Red Raiders have now won three straight and are firmly planted inside the national spotlight. With Anderson on the Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy watch lists and Atwell providing consistent perimeter firepower, Tech’s backcourt may be the most complete in the Big 12.

The message across the league is clear: the Red Raiders aren’t limping into March.

They’re accelerating. And with Christian Anderson controlling tempo, scoring in bunches and filling every column of the box score, Texas Tech basketball looks built for the moment — and maybe something even bigger.
