LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 2-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders are headed to Palm Springs, California for six games in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic before returning home for the home opener scheduled for Feb. 26.
When the Red Raiders hit the dirt at Rocky Johnson Field next week, superstar NiJaree Canady will do so rocking a new signature look.

The All-American pitcher announced on social media the unveiling of a signature cleat with Tech's recently-new uniform provider Adidas.

Last season, Canady was the first collegiate softball player to ever earn $1 million in the name, image and likeness era. Now, she is continuing to capitalize on those opportunities as the first college softball athlete with a player-exclusive cleat.
According to Front Office Sports, the ADIZERO Instinct 2.0 PT "NiJa" will be available to purchase later in the season.
Canady has backed up his stellar three-year career in college with more brilliance in the circle in Year 2 in Lubbock, however she does account for the one loss Tech has suffered this season.
The Topeka, Kansas native holds an ERA of 1.57 with a 4-1 record. She has 28 strikeouts in 26.2 innings pitched this year. Unlike previous seasons, Canady is surrounded by other notable pitching performances on the staff.
The Red Raiders and coach Gerry Glasco have gotten strong showings from Samantha Lincoln (0.78 ERA, 3-0) and Kaitlyn Terry (0.98 ERA, 4-0) so far. Texas Tech sits 11-1 on the year.
Canady hasn't been in the batting order as frequently during this non-conference stretch, but she demonstrated her two-way power with a grand slam home run on Feb. 6 against North Texas, her only hit in 10 at bats so far this season.
She will return to the field with the Red Raiders - and may debut her new signature cleat - when Texas Tech plays against Fresno State at 5:30 p.m. CT on Feb. 19.
